Mission Statement
Our purpose is to create a vibrant homeschool music program that meets the unique needs of homeschooling families in Delaware. We are dedicated to fostering a love for music while providing music education for students of all skill levels.
Our commitment lies in developing each student’s musical abilities and encouraging self-expression in a supportive community. We aim to enhance learning and build confidence through various performance opportunities, while emphasizing teamwork and collaboration in musical ensembles.
Through our program, we also aim to instill essential life skills, empowering our students to thrive both musically and personally.
Welcome to the Home School Bands of Delaware! We strive to offer a comprehensive instrumental music program. This band program offers students from elementary through high school the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, participate in ensembles, and perform while making music with peers.
We also provide opportunities for students in 2nd grade and older tp play in a recorder ensemble, along with private music lessons on the following instruments: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, bass, percussion, drum set, and bell set.
Our director of bands, Kathleen Kennan comes to us with extensive teaching experience in music, including conducting bands for high school, middle school, and elementary students. Kathleen is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment that encourages a love for music and learning in every student.
Currently she is working in church ministry, lives in Wilmington, De, and has two adult children and a little puppy named Izzy.
Join us for our Open House in late September (TBD) to meet our director and discover how our program can enrich your child’s musical journey.
We look forward to welcoming you to our musical community.
