When is the Open House? And what will take place?
The Open House is on October 3 at 6:30 PM, located at 201 Hawthorne Dr. Wilmington De, 19802. The open house will be a great opportunity to learn and discover what the program offers, meet the Director of homeschool bands, and talk with a band instrumental representative who can answer questions regarding what instrument might be the best choice for your child. It will be informative and a fun meeting. We hope you can join us.
When does band practice start up?
The first practice begins Thursday, October 17.
What happens if my student already plays an instrument?
We will evaluate your child’s skill level and recommend an appropriate ensemble placement. If they have been playing for one year or less, they should probably start in the Beginning Band.
When does the recorder class start up?
Recorder Class will begin once we have eight or more students registered.
What is the cost per week for the bands and ensembles?
The cost is $25 per week, billed monthly. There is an additional $25 charge for 2 hour dress rehearsals prior to performances.
What is the best method of payment and where do I submit payment?
You have three options of payment one is going into the website and paying online through PayPal, or you can write a check and or you can pay in cash.
We prefer you pay online. In addition you will have the option to set up auto payments
My child does not have an instrument. What do I do?
Depending on the instrument, your child will be able to find one at a local music store to rent at minimal cost monthly payments average around $15-$20 and instrument to start or through marketplaces for used instruments. It’s recommended to bring someone knowledgeable about instruments and to be cautious when purchasing. We recommend you do not send money prior to picking up the instrument.
Note: another opportunity to look at band instruments will be at the open house on Thursday, October 3 at 6:30 PM
What if I cannot start on October 15? Is it ever too late to join?
It’s never too late to join the band program! Rates will be adjusted if needed, and if you join close to a performance , we may ask you to assist with ushering and observing the first concert.
