The Recorder Ensemble is tailored specifically for homeschool students in second grade and up. This engaging class serves as a fantastic precursor to learning a band instrument, allowing students to play melodic notes in a fun and collaborative setting. Offered twice a year for eight sessions, students will have the opportunity to learn music together and develop their skills. At the end of the course, a small mini concert will be held for families, providing students a chance to showcase what they’ve learned and enhance their performance abilities. The class will be offered when we have a minimum of eight students registered. Join us for an exciting musical journey!
Materials Required & Class Structure
In our Recorder Ensemble students will need to bring their soprano recorder, Yamaha Recorder Student Book by Sandy Feldstein and a wire music stand to every class. Parents can purchase the lesson book for $6.99 and Recorder in a local music store.
In our Recorder Class, students will learn proper playing posture for recorder, work on tone production, fingering and reading in the treble clef, and collaborate in ensemble playing.
We foster a supportive and encouraging environment where young musicians can thrive.
Join us for our Homeschool Band Program Open House on October 3, 2024, at 6:30 PM!
This event is a perfect opportunity for parents and students to explore instruments, consider instruments, and participate in a Q&A session about the program and available opportunities. The class fee is $25 per hour of instruction, with fees due monthly. We look forward to seeing you there!
